Dimitri Wijesinghe '13 Awarded First Prize for ACM Student Research Competition at SIGCSE

Dimitri Wijesinghe'13 participated in the ACM Student Research Competition at SIGCSE 2013, March 6-9, in Denver. He presented his senior thesis work, "Checkpointing MCMCTree." The competition started with a poster session Thursday afternoon, from which five students were selected to give oral presentations on Saturday morning. From among those presenters, Dimitri was one of three selected to receive an award at the SIGCSE luncheon: first prize! Congratulations to Dimitri and to his thesis adviser, Associate Professor of Computer Science Marc Smith.
